The 2001 China Cup Golf Championship took place at Miswood Golf Course on Sunday, September 30th, 2001. This year’s golf championship was coordinated by See Y. Wong. Fellow committee members: Alan Chu, Tak Ming Lee, and Peter Chan participated and joined in on the festivities for some friendly competition. We were honored to have Consul General of China with us this year for the opening ceremony.

Many great golfers were on the green today and while everyone played their best, here are a few that stood out amongst the crowd. With the longest drive are: Walter Yuen, Raymond Lau, Tien Wu, and William Wu. Four people got the closest to the pin: Richard Lee, Jimmy Lau, W. M. Huang, and John Mui. Two people had the longest putt: See Wong and Hai Han Zhao. Everyone put all their energy and efforts in their game and amidst the crowd, five came up victorious. At fifth place was Steve Tao. The fourth place winner was Joe Yau. Third place went to Ming Bo He and second place was taken by Takeshi Komatami. The first place winner of the 2001 annual China Cup Golf Championship is Dr Lee. Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s championship. We appreciate everyone who came out to participate in this event and helped to create many great memories together.

After a long day of golfing under the sun the awards were presented at the Dragon Light Restaurant where golfers, with their families and friends, were able to sit and enjoy some dinner as the golfers got their recognition and awards.

We had a great outcome from this golf outing; thank you to all those who participated and made this event possible. Please look forward to the 2002 China Cup Golf Championship.
