The 2000 Hong Kong Club Annual Gala took place at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook on Friday, March 17th, 2000, at 7pm in the evening to midnight. Committee board members: Eddie Lau, Francis Yip, See Wong, Lee Tak Ming and Eden Chan along with special guests: James W. Glasgow, Will County State Attorney, Richard J. Segel, Assistant Attornery General, Donald Randich, Mayor of Crest Hill, the China Consul and Penny Kendall, the Director of International Relations Chief of Protocol celebrated the night with performers and other attendees. Together they enjoyed a traditional Lion Dance performance and musical performances by Chad Lee, Janice Yang, Cara Liu, Hui Li Hong, Frances Ng, Ching Roung Chou and Daisy Kuo, a Chinese acrobatic opera and King of Monkey performances with masters of ceremony: David Wong, Krissy Chow and Bobby. The evening concluded with their raffle drawing hosted by Owen and Jim Wong, which offered prizes such as domestic air ticket of $350, 5 piece jewelry sets, a famous painting, round trip Hong Kong ticket, 27” television cash and more.
